If it is a Fender I think the holes would be going upwards in a NE direction given the shape and placement of the Fender logo. Also this being a vintage "Hotrod" style case there would not have been a logo there in the first place. I am not saying this is legit, just not a Fender.
Actually, IIRC, ROAD was started by Bud Ross of Kustom fame in Chanute Kansas.
Our band manager back in those days also sold gear and was the local ROAD, and before that Kustom, dealer.
I even used a ROAD 440 head with a single 18 and a 4x12 cabinet for a month to demo them in the state for him. I think that was with an Azure Glo from '75. Long since sold (kicks own butt once again)but fondly remembered, even though I was really ****** when it came in without a toaster or a horseshoe, as the high gains kicked some serious butt with that rig.
I do not recall the Rickenbacker name being on the left hand side in Red from the TRB series which the one in question is posing as.
It just looks wrong to me.
Maybe John Hall or Kenny can update us as to if this was ever a logo style they used?
I think Ric had something to do with them at some point though, I may be wrong but I thought that I had read that somewhere, maybe in the Richard Smith book?
Do you remember how your Azureglo compared with Midnight Blue Steve?
