Man, I wish their necks were slimmer!
I could see falling in love with one in a heartbeat.

Re: Here come the Cheyennes!!!
I understand the "not slim neck" thing on Laredos/Cii's and I can see it.
I hear (being a fromer Ric Virgin, shame on me) that the 4003's have a super-fast neck, and trust me, I'm about ready to go bonkers a buy a JG 4003-
Scary!
But my Laredo neck, to me, has a great radius, and although it lacks the J-Bass feel or Gawd-only knows, the asymetrical build of the 3-piece neck on my Tobias-which is like a Ferrari-
It is a good neck, makes me dig in and bury those low-end runs, and squeeze off the high-end and mid phrases, too.
Like it??
Luv it!

Scott, no, I'll pick it up in person at North Coast. He's local for me. He'll likely get it late this week, and I will probably go see him next week, so by then it will have warmed up nicely.

Just have to watch what year the 4003 is from. Some are slim and some are very fat.I understand the "not slim neck" thing on Laredos/Cii's and I can see it.

For me, I'm spoiled from years of playing an old JB and now some very nice small Rick necks to make the transition easily.

Re: Here come the Cheyennes!!!
I have medium sized hands. Although the 4004 neck is a bit wider than the 4003, the slim front to back profile makes the 4004 neck very comfy and a sweet pleasure to play in my hands.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: Here come the Cheyennes!!!
I concur. I do not feel a need to "adjust or adapt" moving from a Cheyenne to a 4001/3 bass. Both feel the same comfort level because of the slimmer front-to-back profile of the 4004 neck.rickenbrother wrote:I have medium sized hands. To me it feels like going from a toothpick to a 2X4.

LoL, my 2005's were like that as well. I went through quite a few Monty's trying to get one with a decent neck. 2006 was my year, still a Monty but with a much better neck as far as thickness goes.johnallg wrote:Next time your near my basses, pick up my 2004. Re: Here come the Cheyennes!!!
wow,tony--an amber fireglo cii? that would be beautiful.the fg pictured earlier in this thread was freakin' gorgeous, one of the best looking 4004's i've seen yet....i like mine so much, that i am thinking hmmm what about a 2nd one,non cii, with the different pickup spacing, finished fretboard, and maybe a toaster in the neck position? drool.....
Re: Here come the Cheyennes!!!
No phone call or email here, either. I'm not sure if the bass shipped when I thought it did or if it takes longer to travel than I thought. I suppose it's possible the next one will be mine. Now completing day 1,144...ajish4 wrote: Looks like more 4004Cii AFG's have shipped to Mike Parks.............still watching and waiting.........no phone call, no email..........no bass yet.
Edit: I just checked the shipping page (I'm wearing out that link lately

Excellent....THANKS RYAN.....that puts me on deck unless there is MORE than one in either shipment!nukebass wrote:No phone call or email here, either. Woody, I WISH I would have ordered an AFG 4004cii. The 4003FL AFG is stunning, I wonder how many will be sitting in "store stock"?
