I'll surely be bringing my new old-timer along. :)

Well, the rooms are booked for the 18th, as is a PA and drum kit. Thomas is looking forward to seeing us again. Maybe we can conscript him to drum duties.

Rich, do you have an updated list of attendees for us? You've been much more on top of things than I have this year. And for that I'm grateful. You're doing a great job. :)

All of you have two arms/hands and legs/feet so any of you can play drums, really. So long as all (or most) of your appendages are working, they can even be all lefty or all righty it doesn't matter. This isn't a competition, you're there to have fun and all you need is a working, breathing MetroGnome®.

How hard is it to hold onto a couple of clubs sticks and go 1..2..1..2..1..2..1..2....

Gary (Modrock) - Gareth - Doug

Has anyone had any luck, enlisting a drummer (or two), for sitting in the early afternoon at BARC ?
:)

The sticks and 1,2 1,2 sounds fine. But then the feet get involved. And even if that doesn't fall apart, my brain will, at some point, realize "'hey, i'm drumming!" and that's that, Evel Knievel over the handle bars.... (funny thing is, I'm watching Mikkey Dee on my tv right now and if I could, brother, I would).

I have a RIC-less guitarist friend with a couple of drummers. He thought the confluence sounded interesting. He usually works Saturdays, but if he's open, maybe I can swing something. It's doubtful, but I'll call him this weekend.

Speaking of Motorhead, I hope I get to see and hear that local 4004LK when we meet up, Gareth. :D In fact, I may contact you with a PM per Paul W's suggestion. I hope that won't be problem I have a 4003S that I'm bringing to the confluence, but I want to change the pickups/wiring to get closer to a certain tone. I'm also bringing a MG 4001 from '74 (wavy grovers, Red dots, old-style lefty headstock, beautiful neck). Paul just fixed my wiring and, a couple years back, refretted it. It sounds nasty, in a good way.

The amp I'm bringing is an SWR Baby Blue II combo. It's very clean and a great pre-amp, but I'm not sure if it will work in the space. I guess we'll see.

Earlier, I had asked in general, if there were any other left handers coming. Specifically, any left handed instruments strung lefty? Let me know.

Also, I'm not a musician. I learn songs/compositions to keep myself busy, but can't "jam something in E" If I know the parts, though, I'm alright. Anything I can work on beforehand? I don't play too many songs associated with RIC guitars or Paul McCartney (Come Together, Let Me Roll It), but I'm willing to learn. Of course, if Black Sabbath, Tool or Black Flag is all you play, too, cool.

So, Southpaws? Buehler? Buehler?

I troll thru YouTube for my drummers at home. In fact, I play with the best and they never complain. It's not ideal, but maybe an if-all-else fails possibility.

Here's an example. There are alot of these isolated tracks, but it takes some searching.

Drummers? Isn't that what they make drum machines for?

I'll be bringing my 360/12v64 and my recent acquisition, the FireGlo 330, and my 35 watt Fender 63 RI Vibroverb amp. I have played drums back in the 70s when one of my band mates didn't show up, but it's a basic back beat, nothing fancy. I'll try if if I'm physically able.

Looking forward to seeing my Rickenbacker friends again !

Gary F. ( modrock )

Rich, could I try your 360/12 with Arnquist's modifications ?
