your '68 has a hi gain pick up in the treble position, right?
I didn't know that '68 4001 were so special for rickenbacker collectors

Ok, I'm back!!

I put the TI long scale strings on it and what a difference it makes!! The lows are very clear and booming and I didn't even have to intonate it!
...but it was certainly tough trying to seat those string ends into the R tailpiece!!

Now.....to find a suitable amp for my babies to sound their best.....

Ampeg....the SVT line?

I really like the McCartney/RIC sound but keep in mind.....I also will be playing a Hofner through it.....

`how bigs' the gig?

SVT for sure-if ya got roadies!

V4B-H 'same' preamp section but different power valves and OT/PT trannys-so not the 'same' tone.

For small gigs-SB-12 thru the board (but has no DI or XLR)

Lots of outside stuff in good weather. For inside use, I'll definitely need the xlr.....

Inside is mostly smaller venues.

go with an svt and don't worry about it...just let it rock!!!
