I'm playing my 4003s5 while "Bluesboy" jams out a solo on his guitar at a gig last April.

Cool pic, Landon. Is that 1/2 inch spacing and a vintage pickguard and knobs I see on that 4003S/5?

Ok here at last is a pic, sorry it's so small, the file size really bites !!!

Taken at a sound check for a local Blues festival.

Ok, thanks to Irfanview, here's a slightly better image.

Amp is my "portable" Fender Bassman 400 2x10 , with a Fender Tuner fitted, and yes that is a Fender Precision behind me.

Ronn,
Don't worry about swapping out the pickgaurd on that 4001-CS, hell I'd refinish it ...... Hmmmmm what colour, should I choose !!!!

Jim, I bought one of those new Fender 400s with 2-10s when they came out a couple years ago, blew up on it's third gig. Luckily it was only a week and a half from buying it and got to swap for a Roland DB700 which has about 500 gigs on it now and still sounds great.
Thought about a refin for the CS in the future. If I did it'd be white.
And hey, I've got a few Fenders myself.

I've had good luck with this one, but this one came out of the Custom shop.

I'd much rather have used my Ampeg and my 4x12, but in the end the access to the stage determined the Fender was easier. I came out the back of it on my DI, and the sound crew were very complimentary of the signal quality.

It's funny, I had a Korg tuner in the slot on mine.

Hello Jeff,
Yes I've customized it to make it a 4001v63s/5. I changed the pickguard, knobs and added a v63 bridge pickup surround. I remove the plastic pickup cover on my ricks (unless it's a real horseshoe pickup), easier to play that way.
