Searchers' Autographs

While the folks in the UK have a rather impressive collection of Searchers' autographs, these items are not as prevalent in Canada. I am posting a photo below of a prize that I was fortunate to win in a recent Searchers' contest. I am also adding, seeing as I am blowing my own horn, a copy of the "prize winning" poem.

The poem follows.

The Name of The Searchers

So who would have thought
That in searching for a name
A rock group from Liverpool
Would rely on John Wayne

Well it was off to the movies
In 1956 or was it 57?
When Pender and McNally found
A name sent from heaven

Call us the Woods, the Cliffs?
Maybe the Hunters, The Waynes?
You have to love this movie
Does "The Searchers" sound too lame?

So Mike was agast
But soon became a Pender
Still John stays McNally
Refusing to surrender

Well sooner or later
Tony would get fleeced
And Frank became an Allen
Having previously been McNeice'd

Now Christopher was Crummey
And as Curtis pulls a stunt
T'was anything but funny
Please welcome Johnny Blunt

But Johnny gets chilly
He plays like Keith
Enter Adamson's Billy
And much needed relief

Like the shoot out games
In a Hollywood flick
Here stands Spencer James
After Pender leaving quick

Hello smiling Eddie
Goodbye drumming Billy
Nice you've stayed Rothe
As Hollywood can be silly

So who would have thought
A page from Hollywood's history
Would lead to a Searchers' book
Creating more than one mystery
