Here is something you don't see everyday. Mike Pender's favourite song to perform Goodbye My Love and John McNally most memorable composition Til I Met You. Both great Searchers' tunes at a time when they were more optimistic about their future. For a thorough treatment of this subject please visit
Michael Denger's Searchers' Site.

I agree that Till I met you is one of their best selfcreated songs. Especially like the guitar solo! But- although John's song- does he sing it himself? I'm not listening to it now. But from my imagination, I hear Mike and Chris' voices?! Even Chris alone in (a typical for him) the rather fragile middle part-. Maybe I'm wrong. It's strange John reportedly wrote this to his wife, then letting two pals sing it!
Goodbye my love: Chris again in the middle part. Is this his main/most obvious vocal contribution to any Searchers a-side?

Einar: You are indeed correct. It is Mike and Chris that you hear and I have learned from Michael Denger's fine site that it is Frank on the harmony. Goodbye My Love is again Chris and Mike with Frank singing harmony.
These songs represent some of the finest creative moments and talents of The Searchers. Layers of crystal harmony and scintillating guitar sounds that won our hearts and respect. To my way of thinking, these songs remain as fresh and unique today as they were more than 35 years ago.

Just to add that John sings Till I Met You himself with Frank's harmonies in concert today - or tomorrow when I see them in Salisbury!

Gary: Thanks for this addition. Why not take a photo of this performance to be posted here? Till I Met You is available on both Searchers' Live CDs is it not?

It is interesting to note that The Searchers present line up( Eddie excluded) did not start performing the song, Till I Met You, live, till Pender had left.
It has also, always bemused somewaht, that Goodbye My Love is rarely featured in the act. It was after all their last top five record.
I have been told that it is a strain vocally to do, MP always performs the song with his drummer Steve Carlisle taking part of the lead vocal, in places.
