Hey Kids!
Does anyone see a difference on the Rick 325c64 re-issue pickguard in comparison to fab gear's "movie" pickguard?

Ah, got it!
Awfully hard to tell, from the pictures I've seen. Got a hint?

Well he told me that when He made the pickgaurd the 325c64 hadn't come out yet and that he really hasnt done much work with the site in a while. He builds custom guitars from what I gathered. I love the site though

There have been no production 325c64s released yet, so we should wait until we see that to decide on the accuracy of the PG. So far, the C Series reissues have been stunningly right-on and have garnered precious little criticism from a very obsessive audience.

I thought about putting gold guards on my Montezuma 360. But I loose the american flag Argh. Does any make a gold pickup selector?

I've found that if you're very careful, you can peel the MIA sticker and re-stick it, as good as new!
I disagree with the general statement regarding the accuracy of the C Series. Perhaps most are spot-on, but...
As nice an instrument as it is, the 4001C64S just isn't all that accurate. Specifically, the body contours, headstock shape, pickguard and TRC are noticeably off.

Thanks Dennis.
I was thinking about this a bit more after running the pics over in my mind. I need to look again I suspose.
But is the stock stock truss rod cover available in Gold? I have heard that Ric won't sell them? If not then the only way to do it would be to mask off the letters on your truss rod cover and paint it.
While it can be done it would make changing back to white guards not and easy proposition. But if you went gold with Montezuma Glo you might not wanna go back. However it would be nice to still have that option.

Dennis, "noticeably off" of what? The stock RIC bass, or Paul's 4001s after his modifications? The C64s is designed to be a replica of Paul's sanded, zero-fretted, parts-replaced 4001.

Then theres the selector switch too. It should be gold as well. I got to thinking though I have a Les Paul that has a natural maple top and it has a creme selector switch and creme binding. So a gold top Les Paul probably had a gold selector switch. That would lead to the obvious conclusion that there must be one available at one of the guitar parts houses.
Oh pickguardian makes these guards too.

Definitely off Paul's after the mods, which is really the only true comparison one can make.
