That doesn't seem like a bad price for Europe, no?

Go for it, men! Ahead forward! Full assault!

Being all-Maple, I bet that'd sound hot as HECK with toasters/toaster-higain combi fitted.... 60s-4001S style, except better looking! Image

if you put single coils in a 4004 you should probably put in 250k pots ... otherwise it will sound harsh ...

You ever stuck a hi-gain/toaster combination into a 4004, Jeff?

I've even considered getting a used Laredo and planned on fitting the whole treble pickup assembly + toaster early-70s 4001-esque, but it seems the body is a bit too thin.

Imagine it.

yep ... I got one of them ... I wired it vol, vol, tone ... and put 2 1000k volume pots in it and a 500k tone pot ... it has a real Chris Squire type treble bite ... and yes it now sports 5 strings ...

Mark ... Yep I tried high gain, toaster and a toaster copy that is pretty hot ... but I keep going back to the hb1 pickups on that bass ...

the hb1 pickups are interchangeable with high gain and toaster pickups on this bass ... you just need a screw driver, solder gun and a rubber backing pad ... again if you do put single coils in use 250k pots for the volume control ... and I highly recommend wiring it vol, vol, tone ...

you can't put a 4001/4003 treble pickup assembly in that bass ... the body is not thick enough ... but you can use a guitar high gain or a bass neck pickup in there ... you could screw the pickup surround to the wood the way Lemmy did ...
