Joe Walsh plays a Glenn Frey 230 on the second disc. And it sounds great!

Jeff, I saw Walsh play the 230 in concert about a year or so ago with the Eagles. Sounded really good. He used it on 'Life's Been Good' and one other which presently I can't recall.

If memory serves, I think he played it on the Hell Freezes Over DVD on Pretty Maids All In A Row. I'd have to double check but, I think that's right. That guitar does sound good.

I think you're right, Scott. It's been a while since I've watched it, but I do have a distant memory of pointing at the TV and yelling "Rickenbacker!" to my wife. It's all part of this cunning plan I have to manipulate her into saying "go on, order your 330 MG".
Heck, it worked for the 650

There's also some old blues guy on Crossroads and one of his guitar players is playing what looks to be a 381. It's only a brief shot.

That "old blues guy" is Robert Lockwood Jr. He lives and performs quite often in my area. I have seen him several times many years ago, before I knew just how famous he is in the blues world. He is the last direct connection to Robert Johnson. I don't recall who made his guitar, but the top part is reminiscent of a Capri/early 360.

Do a google search and you will find a LOT on him!

I don't recall what he was playing on the Crossroads DVD, but unless my memory is totally AWOL, Robert Lockwood Jr. used to play a semi-acoustic Hagstrom 12-string (Viking?) with 6 strings on it.

My mistake - I just watched Crossroads again, and his guitar (whatever it is) is definitely strung as a 12. He used to play a Hagstrom, of that I'm sure.
