I ordered a horseshoe pu from Lollar about a year ago and it is finally in. I've since sold my old 60's Rick and I was wondering if anyone
has put this PU in a 70's Rick. Do you need to bypass the .0047 cap to make the PU sound right?

No doubt we'll be seeing your '73. Image

My horseshoe is a V63, not a Lollar. With bypassed cap!

I hope to bring the '73 4001 but I only have two single gig bags and one double so I may limit it to four basses, but we'll see what comes.

What does Jason charge for one of these pickups? All I found on his site were a couple of lap steel versions.

I guess I've been away a while. Back in the mid-1990s when I stopped carrying new instruments the V63's bridge pickups weren't using horseshoe magnets. The horseshoes were only for appearances. The magnets were the slug polepieces in the bobbin. When did this change?

I inquired about a horseshoe pickup from Lollar Guitars back in December of last year (and late Feb of this year), and he said "could be 3 weeks could be longer depending on how many orders come in and how many phone calls etc." Since some of you are receiving yours (and since I was put on the waiting list), maybe mine is not too far off.

Scott, as far as I know, the RIC pickup is still the same as the V63 with non functioning horseshoes. Jason's pickup is like the old ones as far as having real, working horseshoes. I'm on the waiting list too, so I guess I moved up one spot now! Yippee!!!

Yes, the only V63's with working magnetic horseshoes were the first ones made.

I hadn't read some of my e-mail. Jason said mine's ready. Anyone know the output on these?
