Marcello,
the Rick pickguards are made of acrylic plastic,
one brand of which is referrred to by the tradename of "Plexiglas". I use the same acrylic on my repros, though the maker of that stuff is "Acrylite".For the gold-backed ones I do, I use Lexan polycarbonate, which serves the same purpose, and to the unenlightened, is virtually the same, but it Will Not crack or break like acrylic frequently does when dropped, or bumped into accidentaly.
