One of the nicest finishes in my book continues to be Mapleglo. Have a look at these great instruments in Mapleglo Finish!

I have to agree with Peter's statement. But then again, I may be biased as two of my three Rickenbackers are Mapleglo.

Richard: It is hard to remain objective when it comes to Mapleglo. As another example please have a look at Jeffrey Smith's Model 370 OS in Mapleglo.

Gorgeous Rics in those photos, Peter. It's enough to make anyone jealous. Mapleglo IS the prettiest finish, in OUR opinion, anyway! ~LOL~ Makes me treasure my own 4003 mapleglo all the more.

I'm also biased since my 360 is in Mapleglo, but still, what a great finish.

I'll try and get a few shots of my Ric taken and then if I can get my dad's scanner to work, send them along to you, Peter.

It's Fireglo first, in my book. Then Mapleglo.

Fred: Fireglo is a terrific finish and statistically it is in the lead in terms of the number of folks that have registered their instruments. While fireglo is indeed a Rickenbacker classic, I am just taken by the beautiful grain of the maple and its natural look.

I know what you mean, having had the pleasure of owning that RM370/12 which was (is?) featured on your webpage ("to every thing there is a season").

It looks real cool with a bit of birdseye, and the natural darkening that the lacquer takes on, so "I hear ya"!

I think look of the double-bound 360 type guitar in mapleglo is a winner.

Hi Friends:

I’m relatively new to this forum and I’ve enjoyed reading everyone’s comments so far. I have a question regarding the Mapleglo finish. I bought a 360/12 a few months back and the Mapleglo finish is very light. It is almost an off white color with a yellowish tint.

Is this a common variation of the Mapleglo finish or is it a freak of nature? I have not seen many Rics this light. It is really beautiful with lots of interesting figuring and grain patterns, especially on the back.

You've got some beautiful Ric guitars there, Jeff. Very clean. As for the shade of the mapleglo 360, it appears to be pretty typical of all the mapleglo finishes I've ever seen.

I write my own stuff and play my all of my own instruments. I recorded this using my Digi 001 system. The Ric 12 string is in the left channel. The acoustic guitar is a 71 Martin D-18 that I bought new when I was in high school. The lead guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus with 57 Classic Humbuckers, and the bass is a 58 Danelectro Longhorn reissue.

For amps—I ran the Ric through a Sabine compressor (very cool pedal!) and then directly to my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe which is loaded with a Celestion V-30. I used an AKG compressor mic placed right up against the grill cloth. I also used the AKG to record the Martin and the vocals. The Les Paul went through a Johnson J-Station (Boutique setting—I think) as did the Longhorn (Rock Bass Amp Model). The drum track is from a Boss Dr. Rhythm drum machine (really a cheapo…any suggestions for a new one?). I really like the sound of the guitars on this track. The vocals…well, I am not a great singer, but this is the best that I can doJ

My Mapleglo is a 2000 and is basically just as light as yours is. The colour will darken and yellow slightly over time, as the story goes.

Neat song. I like the mix and the use of channel space.
