Just a short message to let anyone here know that starting immediately, until around early March, I will not be available for making new repro Rick pickguards. I am presently in the process of packing up all my belongings[including my shop tools] for a major move from the Midwest, to Hawaii. I anticipate having a functional shop up and running by hopefully early March.I will also be offline till around then as well, since my computer will be all boxed up and in transit.
So to anyone contemplating fixing those cracked or broken Rick guards, sit tight, I'll be available again before long. Thanks to all who have already let me help them out. I look forward to more guard projects soon. Aloha, and see you again soon!!! Don[the Rick12Dr.]

Mark; Hey, I Know about salt air[and I do Not have a Jazz bass, just a '64 Jazz neck on the mid 60s P bass body, exquisitely re sunbursted by you

I was tempted Don, however, I opted for the above photo of a hillside in Hawaii.

...Update from the Dr. of all things acrylic...
As of today, March 18, 2002, I am Still working on unearthing all my shop tools and supplies I had shipped from the mainland, from the grand mess in my garage.I'm seeing light at the end of the tunnel, and I am revising my projected
shop opening date to around mid April now.
I have in the meantime since moving here, become employed again, with James Goodall acoustic guitars and his very small operation here on the Big Island of Hawaii.Interesting stuff, job wise, and by comparison, my tenure at Rick in '72 was a no-brainer compared to this, which is not to say I did not appreciate what I did there as well so long ago.Acoustics and electrics are 2 different animals, from a shop standpoint.Feel free to check us out at
http://www.goodallguitars.com
Anyway, I will soon be putting up an official post here announcing my return to pickguard mfg.
Thanks for bearing with me, the Dr.
