Any other strings to your bow?

Had a heap of fun playing around with a banjo yesterday. It was a beaten up old Washburn with a neck that was so bowed it could see around corners!!

The 5th string was a bit confusing.

No prizes for guessing the first tune I tried!!

I enjoyed it so much I'm gonna start looking around for a reasonable used one.

This led me to wonder how many of the forum members have other stringed instruments they play.

I played a viola da gamba once in a folk group. It's basically a cello with frets, tuned like a guitar. Neat instrument.

Violin (4-string, electrified). Also piano & Clavinet if you count hammered string instruments. How many strings on your Theremin, Ronn? (sorry...) ;^)

'Now, squeal like a pig.........'

The movie frightened the **** out of me because of an incident earlier in my life (not as bad as that one!!).

You got it, Robert. Then I tried Kermit's Rainbow Connection........ 'Rainbows are visions and only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide.....'

A friend of mine from NZ was hitch-hiking in Oz years ago...got a ride from a rather weird trucker. At some point, the guy suggested they pull off the road for a swim at a small lake he knew of. After they had parked and hit the lake, the trucker announced that he always 'cracked a fat' upon diving into cold water. My friend was made very uncomfortable by this, but nothing transpired as a result and he eventually reached his destination and parted ways with the fat cracker...

Not a lot of point to the story...I just wanted to run that phrase past you, Howard...

(...cue the banjo music...)
