I've noticed in the 3 months or so that I've had my awesome 660/6, it is somewhat of an overlooked even underrated model. Most if not all of the 660 attention falls on the 12 string version. Wonderful guitars no doubt, but I'm starting this thread for all the 660/6 owners out there to chime in and sing the praises of one of the few 6 string Rics with a wide nut and 21 frets.

I noticed in the online and printed version of the Ric catalog, the 660/6 is not even photographed. The 620/6 gets a snapshot, but not the 660.

Oversight or conspiracy? You decide. *Insert investigative 60 Minutes type news program music here*

Almost all of the 660s on eBay and online dealers are 12s. I'd like to know the ratio of 6 strings vs. 12 strings being produced. Is it an even 50/50 split? It doesn't seem like it.

I guess the demand for 660/12s is alot greater. Therefore making the 660/6 somewhat of an oddball.

C'mon people, lets hear your opinions on the most evil of the Ric model numbers the Six Sixty Six. Muhahahahaaaa....

Dang... Six Sixty / Six... as a loyal Iron Maiden fan, I shoulda spotted that one long ago...haha.

I am a bassist, and I have a 660/12 that I recently acquired. It is an awesome guitar, the best I've played. My regular guitar is a '94 Gibson LP Studio. I'm beginning to wish I had a 660/6, though. I like a lot about the LP, but I like the feel and tone of the RIC better.

I too, have a 660/12 (another bassist here!), but a 660 is in my future, in JG.

Maybe there is less turnover of six string models on the used market. I myself have been flip-floping between a 660 and a 650. I finally picked up a 650C last week. You never know a 660 could be in my future

My 660-6 gets more playing time than my other electric, which happens to be a PRS McCarty. The thing sounds so sweet that I can't seem to put it down.

Would the 620/6 sound like the 660/6 if it had the vintage pickups?

Probably.
