I just bought a like new condition Bass Pod XT as I always wanted to experiment with these untis but had a very good deal.

Any of you guys have it ??? Of course, I will play it with my V63 and 4003. I am after an aggressive Tone with bite in it, kind of like Dave Meros of Spock`s Beard who has one of the best Ric Tone these past 10-15 years !!!! He told me he uses a Pod too.

Let me know your settings if you have any suggestions

I have the older bass pod model ...

first of all some of the stuff that the line6 people recommend doesn't sound good ... they say set your amp with bass=0 treble=0 middle=10 ... well that will guarantee that your sound will SUCK!!!

I set my amp like this ... bass=5 middle=5 treble=5 ... and I set my eq like this ...

Image

and I set the pod like this amp model=amp 360, output level=4, drive=2, bass=8, middle=2, treble=8, chan vol=10, compress=5, effect tweak=0, effect=rodent ...

The nice thing about the pod is I can take "My Sound" around with me and plug it into any amp ...

part of an aggressive sound is playing aggressively ... get a good sound before you plug in ...

Jeff,

I agree with you on your last comment and I hope the Pod will give me the extra boost needed to get to that Tone. Play with a pick, mainly using the bridge pickup and good effects should be a good combination.

I bought my pod on a Friday at GC ... I took it home and played with it all weekend and by Sunday night I was ready to return it for a refund ... but I thought better and worked with it and now I am addicted to the pod ... I really like having it all contained in one module ... I have to have distortion and compression ...

good luck with your new toy ...

Jeff,

After about 4 months of tweaking, that is almost exactly how my pod is set-up. I'm also using the 2 X 15 cabinet model with the 360 amp. What cabinet model are you using, if any? I use the rodent effect about 10% of the time.
What are your B2R vols set at for an average stage set-up?
The pod really is the perfect compliment for my V63 and Ampeg.
We are finally close to playing out. I can't wait to get out there again!

Thanks,
Kevin

I used to add a cabinet model ... but now I don't ... my b2r gain and volume go between 2 and 5 ... depending on how loud I want to play ... all the tone controls 4-6 range ...

I use an amp 360 model with distortion and compression for almost everything these days ... after that I sometimes use one of the marshall amp models ... and occaisionally use a chorus ...

I agree with Jeff you can be the best bassist in the world if your sound sucks you ain't got s___. I would rather have my sound before i plug in then to have to mess with it all night.

The pod is not for everybody ... but I won't leave home without mine ... it will make a mediocre amp good and a good amp great ... many bass players who see me play go out and get a bass processor ...
