Looks like a fine bass, but as Ron mentions the horseshoe wouldn't be original on a '74.....or the toaster for that matter?

Who exactly is the Emperor ?? Does anyone know?

Thats a very cool bass, even with the replacement Pickups. '74 was a good year.

Keep in mind that the last Re-issue horseshoe pickup alone, went on ebay for around $500.00

eBay seller, alias "emperor26"- renowned for selling some very high-profile Rickenbacker basses, a la Shadow, Tuxedo, etc. He has an affinity for Chris Squire.

His infamous "stupid pictures" are a treat, especially the action figures in his garden. Image

As to his actual identity - I have no clue.

Like Reader's Digest used to say..."Laughter, the Best Medicine"...

Some of us run the risk of over-dosing from time to time...

Nice maple on that one! I like the toaster and HS on it too!

Would that be a real horseshoe PU or just a regular PU with the cover pieces?

As is usual with the Emporer, looks like a fine guitar.

His end of the world prophecy is worrying though! According to him, I just don't have enough time to get all the Rics that I want (which is a lot)!

He paid about $340 for that horseshoe a week or so ago. Throw in $100 for the toaster and he's in for around $450. Depending on what he paid for the bass, he's probably looking at a minimum $500 profit for the B.I.N.

I know "The Emperor", which is a bit of a pun on his real name. He's a Southern California guy, and I bought a BC Rich custom bass signed by John Entwistle from him through eBay a number of years ago.

If you're lurking, Emperor, "Batty" is doing fine!

BIN'd for $1,995! A new record for a '74 MG with non-original pickups, isn't it?
