Well? I know it started yesterday. Anyone have any reports on new models? What is the new color for 2002?

The 2002 color is Burgundy.

Yeah, I saw on Northcoast's website that the new color is a translucent burgundy red. On Voxtalks someone reported that there was also a "wild surf green" color too, but I can't substantiate that anywhere else. But I think we know for sure that Burgundy is the new color.

Also saw on Mike Parks website that the new models are a 5 and 8 string version of the 4004 C II.

And what a beautiful looking guitar! I am wondering what the official name of the colour will be, "burgundyglo" in keeping with the tradition or just "burgundy". Thanks to R.C. Bengston for the great photos. The link provided here leads right to JWilli's door.

The display card describing the guitar indicated that it was "Burgundy".

Didn't Rickenbacker produce a "Bugundyglo" in the 80's??? Why didn't they come up with something like a "Lemonglo" or even a "Butterscotchglo?" Wonder what next year will bring us? By the way, anyone get a hold of those Baby Blue models?

Gerald: Burgundyglo is part of RIC's finish history. It has been popular before, although perhaps not exactly the same shade. I have heard that it was a mixture of jetglo and fireglo finishes, perhaps half and half. I am thinking that this current shade is a tad darker but this is always difficult to determine from the photographic evidence alone. It is a classy shade, however, and I consider that they will do well with it.

Shoot. Just when you had figured out how much it would cost to own one of every color, RIC has to add a new one. Oh well, what's another grand? Beautiful guitar!!!

Northcoast pictures

Northcoast has added some new pictures today. Most notable to me is the 4001C64S, the "McCartney" bass. I thought that this bass was going to have a high gain in the bridge position? Also, check out the zero fret.

Thanks Sea Green. You have to love the detailed work right down to the zero fret on the 4001C64S.
