Hi,
I am thinking of ordering a new 330 or (335 if the accent vibrato is still available) Fire Glo, and I need some help please. I know you can get toasters, but can you get the vintage TRC/Name Plate from the factory ?? I dislike the current embossed plastic name plate that has been in use for many years now. I guess I could exchange the TRC for a Vintage one from RIC, but it would be better if the screw holes match up right at the start. Any input is appreciated!
PS: Would Ric exchange the cuurent TRC for a Vintage Style??

I'll save JH and KH (not related) the trouble. No. You can't
"upgrade" to vintage guards. Now, they may exchange new for vintage but you'll most likely have to come out of pocket.

And for the record, let it be known that I hate 24 fret necks and raised plastic TRCs. lol. I would happy if every RIC was 21 frets (except for bass) and had a vintage TRC. Just do it. :-)

I, for one, would be very happy if the basses were 21 fret!

Well, JW, that addresses guards, which are not really a problem since folks do make them, but what about TRCs?

So you are saying that a raised TRC in white cannot be exchanged for a flat, back-painted one in gold, even with a cash infusion?

I also need to exchange my TRC for a factory gold one. John..........Kenny...........how about clearing this up?

Paul, I guess that I was trying to answer Alan's subject line question and am fairly certain that RIC will let you trade in your new TRC (and $$) for a vintage style TRC. Ta-da!

Standard guitars can be ordered with vintage pickups, and even Accent vibratos.

Vintage nameplates require the old one being sent in for keeps, which requires a Return Authorization number.

It most likely requires another hole being drilled in the headstock, as the plates are not the same size.

Confused? Drop me a line.

Not most likely... it does.

Or, as some have done, carefully glue the top of screw in the hole toward the point of the nameplate and then tape it on the underside to your guitar. That way the mod is reversible. Not as pretty mind you, but reversible.

While we're at it, can you order a mixture of pickups? For example, a 360 with a high gain at the bridge and a toaster at the neck.

I'd like to see checked binding make a comeback as an option. Along with........ Tapered Necks.
