I've owned a 1966 Ric 325 fireglo model with f hole for well over 30 years. It is in excellent condition--though it has a new vintage case because the old one died long ago on the road. I don't play much anymore and have been thinking of selling. (Write for serial number if interested)

I'm way too poor to be interested, but...

1 o'clock or 2 o'clock f hole?

Joe--

1 0'clock f hole, and hi to all you others, and thanks for the welcome. It seems this guitar, which I bought second-hand in 1972, has Grover keywinds instead of Kluson. The headstock is so unintruded that I never knew the difference until Mr. Bell pointed out to me that Ric originals are Klusons. I'll tell you--I wouldn't change them back. They look fine and the guitar rarely goes out of tune. I have a Ric 360 12 (which I bought new) in Mapleglo which I just checked, and the keywinds are Klusons. They work just fine and always have. As I say, I was THINKING of selling the guitar, but if the keywinds make a big difference, I'd just as soon keep it as it looks so good and plays so well. Thanks to everyone who has written to me with information.

Very nice Greg. Did you install the black knobs on it?

Dang! It's a "whattabeauty."

Now I have to wipe the drool off my keyboard.

John--

No. As far as I know, the 1966 came with black knobs. I could be mistaken--but even the C64 has the standard black knobs, as did the original.

Greg, I'll clarify why I asked; Most domestic Rickenbackers by 1966 had chrome-top knobs rather than the black ones on your guitar, but the black knobs could very well be original to your guitar. Looks great either way!!

John--

I believe the 1966 325s came with black knobs--standard since 1964.

LOL, we were trying at the same time....the Rose-Morris exports surely had them. Most 325s you see up to 1967 had black knobs, and some 310s/315s into 1967 had black knobs...

BTW the Fireglo on your 325 looks great Greg...

John--thanks.

I guess you don't really notice it as an owner until other people see it too.
