Whoops! Gone already...
I would have grabbed it to flip it but, My Ebay selling has gotten me into tax issues.
Thought I would turn one of you guys onto it instead...

If it was FigeGlo I would have snagged it before it was posted here

.
There is/was a FireGlo for sale at
www.bassgear.com for $1500 if you are interested.
I stopped buying things to flip for extra money because that's when I get into trouble. I tend keep them because of the "good deal". So since I don't want another MapleGlo Ric I figured it was best to let it pass. Right time, right place, right price BUT wrong color......DRATS!

That is a steal, even if the late V63 models played and felt more and more like a 4003...

I had a 99 that I sold to Ken Swearingham and I thought it had the best action of any Ric I've played..

That was a very good deal. And in mint condition! I'm so glad I saw this thread after the v63 was BIN'ed and gone - my wife would have killed me.

It's easy to find a wife, but a v63 with nice action?

aw yes, but by doing so one 'exposes' himself to the "Lorena Bobbitt haircut" syndrome...

"even if the late V63 models played and felt more and more like a 4003..."
My '98 V63 feels similar to my '73 4001 which is nice and slim, perhaps not as slim as my '67 4005WB, but still very nice.

The late model v63's have the same headstock shape as the current 4003.
I noticed this in the late 90's around '97 or so. The 4003 and v43 headstocks became standardized. Up until then the v63 had a slightly longer headstock, and the 4003 had a much smaller headstock.
On the later v63 this is quite noticable as the vintage nameplate goes almost to the edge of the headstock.
I wish the current 4003 had the larger headstock, but at least the current one is close!
