I still have a complete set of the Beatles albums, all of them, and they're still sealed....I had two and sold one a number of years ago.
I have my original LP's as well but they are worse for the wear.

I bought the German pressing of the White Album new in 68 when I was a kid on the army post 'over there'...my sister has it now...one of the advantages of being the 'last one out of the nest'...

I have most of their American releases on LP, had the British releases on CD but they left with one of my old gilrfriends. I have most of their stuff in some form or other. I still like to listen to the LP's though but hate to turn them over.

"I even have most of Yoko's early albums."

Now that's a statement you don't see very often.

John, I was surprised to not see my favorite "solo" record on your list - "Band on the Run." Great album, I love each and every song. Highly recommended!

I have an extensive LP collection.... just about all the old original bootlegs. Started in the early 70's when I lived in NYC and the little basement record shops in the Village sold these things which in many cases (like the original Yellow Matter Custard) came in a generic white sleeve with a piece of xeroxed paper sloppily pasted on the front. Plus of course all the regular US/UK (and some German) releases of their commercial records.

It's an impressive collection (along with books and such.... if I do say so myself). In the 70's and early 80's it was kinda neat to be one of the relative few who had access to all those outtakes/interviews/decca/etc-etc-etc, but then a lot of that material started appearing on CDs in mainstream music shops. On the one hand it was nice to see the material released to a wider worldwide audience, but on the other hand I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that these old boots were now not so unique anymore.

I used to crack up when I'd hear comments on the radio and such that would say "now heard for the ver first time....!' and they'd play something off of a boot that had been out there for 15 or 20 years.

But I've been wondering of late what I should do with it all?

There is one more Beatle album I own, which I forgot to add to my list.
I also have With The Beatles on CD.
By the way Dean,Band On The Run is apparently Paul McCartney's favourite Wings album as well.

I'm a bassist, and I hold Paul in very high regard. I'm glad to hear he's proud of "Band on the Run," too. I know it was a very challenging album to finish, due to the master tapes being stolen at knifepoint partway through the recording in Lagos.

I just like everything about that album - the songs are all fantastic, and they seem to flow into each other seamlessly. A masterpiece, one of many for Paul.

I dont play bass, and on a personal level to me Macca was always the least appealing of the Beatles (yes, even including Ringo).

But Paul is a bass GOD thats a fact...jack.

Dean, it was cassette that was stolen from Paul, not the master tapes. I guess that you could call them the "demos". Pretty devastating, nonetheless.
