Luthiers in the Phoenix area

Anyone know of any good luthiers in the Phoenix area? The nut on my '80 360-12 broke off on the bass edge. Also have some electronics issues that I'd like to have checked out by an expert. I'm not confident enough to replace a nut by myself, and anyway I've got a couple other guitars to have looked at.

You guys are the best, and I've learned a lot...so that's why I'm checking with you first, rather than just looking in the phone book.

Thanks for any tips you might have.

I was just down in Phoenix ... the humidity was down to 15% ... that must be hard on instruments ... then I was taking a morning walk and I saw a house for sale ... the real estate agent was John Hall ... yep ... that is what it said ...

I know of a couple good music stores down there ... but I don't know anybody who works on guitars down there ... replacing a nut is pretty easy ... you can get replacement nuts from a Ric dealer ...

Like Jeff, I was down in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago. The local Rickenbacker dealer, Bizzare Guitar may be a place to ask about luthiers. They had a nice selection of Rickenbacker guitars.

Bizzare will recommend Precision, which is right up the street on 7th. I have a 366/12 there now, but I have no prior experience with them.

I think Mike G. has experience with both Precision & AZ Music - perhaps he can chime in - Mike!?

My guess is that an '80 360/12 will most likely take a new nut from RIC with no shaping needed - maybe someone else here can advise. If that is the case I can do it for/with you if you want help... It won't take more than 10 minutes.
