Jeffery, was your hipshot bridge a drop-in or did require a mod? I guess I have the same question for the tuners!
By the way, what is the stock bridge on the Cii, ABM? If not, what is it?
thanks!
Andy

Great question, Andy. I was wondering that myself. I think I'd like to eventually change out the bridges to my 5Cii basses to ones that are the quick hook type (ABM or Hipshot), but I don't want to have to mod them with extra mounting screw holes.
I think the 4Cii basses also have an ABM bridge.

Andy,
The Hipshot bridge is a drop-in! No mods required and I highly recommend it as the range of adjustability is greater than the stock ABM bridge. Adjusting the string spacing is easier as you do not have to loosen the strings to move the saddle side to side. The quick release feature is very nice to have.
The Ultralite tuners require a 9/16" hole, so that will have to be drilled out as the Schallers are 1/2". The headstock on the Cii is thicker than most so I had Hipshot make me longer bushings to enable them to grab the threads.
Joey,
You can download a PDF file with engineering dimensions from the Hipshot website. I do not know whether the 5 string bridge will be a drop-in or not, so measure yours for the mounting hole spacing and compare them to the PDF.

Thanks Jeffery, Thanks Joey!
Jeffery, I guess you have the 'A' style Hipshot.
Have you seen it in Black? Is it shinny or dull?
cheers

Yes it is the A Style bridge. I have not seen it in black so I can't help you there, why not contact Hipshot and ask them.
