Amen to that Rath. Nice bass. I would love one of those.

Very Nice !

I'm becoming a bigger fan of the 's' layout more and more with the dot necks and no binding. I'd certainly get another s5 if I had any thought that I'd put some effort into dealing with the tight spacing.

My vote is to leave it chrome/white Image

I want one of the S basses, but I can't seem to find a jetglo one.

Congrats, you will most likely have more than one before long!

Beautiful bass. Mapleglo is my favorite finish for the S style. I like the grain on yours - the neck-through piece on the front of the body is very subtle, making it a real beauty to look at. Enjoy!

You can see through the pickguard in those pics.

Unfortunately, the white plexi used for the pickguards is not very consistent. Some is opaque and some is more transparent. JH has lamented this in past posts on usenet.

That's a very nice looking bass, Ted, congrats! I like the more transparent pickguards.

I've been thinking of getting a 5'er myself. Maybe I'll do the Rath mod on a 4003, since I like binding and inlays.

Some white spray paint on the rear of the semi transparent guards fixes the see through problem right up. I've also just put some masking tape (the cream color version) on the back of the guard over the cavity areas as a quick fix and those look fine as well.
