The wood seems to be intact. After a refinish and a few new parts it could be pretty sharp again. RIC could even tell the new owner what the sequence number was.

That's what I would do with it. Refinish, new pickups and screws.

I'm actually p..... off after looking at what the a..h... did to that bass; go get an import brand and trash that, not a Blackstar.

Evidently must've been a REALLY good bass to have been played that hard....I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here...
I see our old friend Kendall is all over this one!!

I dont know why Jeff would even think that about a Blackstar. You do know he is pulling your chain, right?

So this Blackstar isn't a museum piece. It was loved and played. At least it wasn't butchered or modified. If it were mine I'd clean it well, polish and set it up, but not refinish it. This is one Blackstar that you can take to a gig, be proud and not worry about scratching it or putting a dent in it.
And it's good to see that Kendall still likes Rics.

actually if it were selling cheap enough I would buy it and make it a 5'er ... any bass 1986 or later is fair game ... the only ones I stay away from are the ones that are too expensive ... I like to get them from between $700 and $1100 and modify them ... the 2000 series I can sometimes get for $500 ...

Not butchered maybe but definently used as a prying or wedging device LOL. Possibly a canoe paddle as well .
