Hi-Gains and Pole pieces

Post by roadrunners »

I would not even consider removign th epolepieces .... on an old Rick ...say pre 1985 , the coil is wound onto these polepieces .

The polepieces are reverse threads of a sort ... you will certainly break the coil wire needing a rewind .

Coil looking tacky ? then respray it with black paint .

The black that is used to paint these old pickups is the same paint as was used to spray the guitars and basses .. at least that is what I was told .
guess who ?!>!

the pole pieces do come out and can go back in ... but you can just remove the chrome cover and spray paint it black ... I have done this with beat up pickups ... it works fine ...
