Accent Vibrato Arms

OK - this is a "union" of two running threads on repro arms, and the bending thereof.

I may be missing something fundamental, but has anyone attempted to make their own Accent vibrato arms? They don't appear to be an intricate item. I should qualify this by adding I have my own nickel/copper-plating setup (I'm into vintage motorcycles as well...), so the plated finish isn't an issue for me. In this instance, they could be "Lennon-ized" or "Tony-ized" prior to plating ;-). A rocket ship it aint!

If I had more time (honours student/Father/guitar nut), I'd offer to do a run (once I worked out who to do them right) for the forum at cost of materials/postage. Heck - I'll do it, but it'll be December before they are done (Merry Xmas!)

No Problems - hopefully I'll have an Accent to work a usable example to copy

You can certainly make one but then again our part 01134 Reissue Vibrato Arm only costs $30.00.

If you do decide to make it yourself, rather than nickel, these should be plated as the other parts in this assembly are, with the hexavalent chrome process.

Does this mean we can now buy the arms on their own?

Question is if they are solid or two piece mechanical like on my '67 625. I have replaced the two piece with a reissue solid one for ease of use but the original is certainly more quirky to use where you can move and then lock into access position. Just noting that. Depends on what you want.....

Hi John,

You do understand my first thought was helping others - no economic motive invovled :-) I'm just one of those guys that wants to see if he can make it first if it's not easy to find. And in Australia...they aint!

$30 is a pretty god price...

Don't get too excited Graham. By the time we go through Rosetti, $30 will become ????? & we will have to wait?????

Any chance that Rosetti would carry stock?

I thought I'd seen them on the RIC parts list as available. Just been too lazy to investigate!
