Re-Erecting a RIC Bass bridge

Mark,

I'm a new inductee to the "Ancient Order of Rick", a past 4003 owner, and have a waiting order for a C64 to arrive soon. I blew this on my old 4003, a Mapleglo/ Black Trim bass. I re-strung, changing out all four at once. Predictably, the bridge listed hard to port, and my setup sank with it. Beyond changing one string at a time, is threre a "Right Way" to re-install a RIC bass bridge and get it straight up?

Your existing posts are a real breath of fresh air for a bass player wanting to keep his Rick in top shape. Thanks, Mark, for your time and energy thus far.

Cheers,
Garry

THey fall over all the time .

Just wedge something under it and push it back .

You could loosen the strings a bit , then shove it back .

I get tired of this and modify lots of bridges .I change the screw to a 8/32 and then drill out the hole it sits in .Then I insert a hex headed screw into the body in that location ,under the base of the bridge .This makes the thing stay upright and has a place that is metal to seat itself. It is very solid.
