Given that Mark Lewishon has heard all the emi tapes, has he ever discussed in interviews emi tracks or takes that he has heard that haven't been bootlegged and also didn't end up on the beatles anthology albums.
On the Anthology DVD the three beatles are in the mixing room listening to take 1 of golden slumbers/carry that weight. To my knowledge that take hasn't been bootlegged or was even on Anthology 3 at all.

I still hold out hope that there is some tape in some attic somewhere that was recorded at a Beatles gig in 1962. I know I'm nuts, but it doesn't hurt to dream.... hey, maybe there's even a good 1962 film!... tons of them! All great quality! 1961 and 1960 too! .... (whew... ok, I'll go take my valium now)
The Star Club recordings by Kingsize Taylor were made on Dec 31, 1962.

Lewisohn hasn't heard all of the tapes.
The job of cataloging all of the Beatles recordings was given to an Abbey Road engineer named John Barrett. As I understand it he was given the task because he was a huge Beatles fan and was dying of cancer.
Lewisohn was brought in to finish the book project for EMI after John Barrett's passing, largely from his notes. Lewisohn has stated publicly that there were errors in that book because he did not have time to go back over everything himself.
