I'd love to own one due to the limited production, but are they really worth $4G's? I know of two available right now and money's not really an issue if I want to do it.

Do it Ron! Of course that's easy for me to say, but I can't help but think tht the value will continue to increase.

What are they worth to you?

Hate to put it this way, but it's really not what it's worth to me. Rather, what is it worth to someoone who would buy it from me 10-20 years from now? I love the way it looks and the fact that it is a unique bass, but I surely won't gig with it.

It's one of a 1000. Not very rare. I still think they are overpriced, but what do I know!
Ron, if your going to get a collectible and not gig it, buy a 60's 4001. You may have to put a few more $$$ out, but there's no comparison in rarity and the vast majority of collectors will always want a 60's Ric bass over a CS, which although is a limited edition is mass produced compared to the numbers produced in the 60's.

Get it and keep your eyes out for a sixties Ric.

....as I said in another forum - I would take it out to play it and hear it in a live environment. I would just be very , very carefull with it.

Yes, I wouldn't buy one for an investment either. I'd also go for the 60's Ric or 60's 4000, 4005, etc.
