Guys---in Andy Babiuk's book he makes mention of Brian Epstein ordering a 360/12 for Gerry Marsden "identical to George's" while in New York with The Beatles in Feb.'64 as a gift for him...For those of you who have Richard Smith's book I believe the back cover sports a pic of Gerry's 12-string before it was delivered to him. I believe the photo to be a Rickenbacker archival photo; the only difference between this and George's 12-string is the one in the photo has crushed-pearl inlay, and the nameplate has a unique cut to it...is this Gerry's 12-string??

Am I confusing this guitar with a different one, but did I not read somewhere that Gerry had cut the end of his headstock off to fit a different case or something?!Anyone??If this Is Gerry's,
[and assuming he only ever owned just one], where is this pic from? Was it Before Gerry got it, and shot in So. Cal. in '64?

Don, I think F.C. Hall took the photo before Gerry got the guitar....if it's still floating around out there it should be easily recognizable!!!

This
photo will be of interest to you and will explain why I consider that the guitar to which you refer John was owned by Gerry Marsden. Note the Rickenbacker trussrod cover.

Great pic Peter!!! Looks like we have a match.
I wonder how much of the headstock Gerry sawed off of the guitar to fit his handmade case!!!!
That guitar has to be one of the first 5 Rickenbacker 12-strings made...Suzi(#1), George's, Mike Campbell's 625/12,Lennon's 325/12 and then Gerry's guitar??? One of the first few, no doubt.....
