Hi I read in some post here that the Toasters on pre 99 model year 325v63 were Hot in comparison to the scatter wounds but I have a 97 that is all original and the pickups have a much lower output compared to my 93 MIM Fender Duo-Sonic.Does this mean the Toasters in my guitar are not the Hot ones or am I comparing apples and oranges and the Hot Toasters are not as hot as the Fender SC.Just curios.Either way I Love the sound I get from my 325v63,very Beatlesque clean but I love it even more for Velvet Underground kinda noise, just like Sister Ray said, yea!

I compared my 325 with my 2003 Gibson Melody Maker which has 1 P-90 pick-up and it seems the output of the Toaster(bridge) seems a little lower. Both guitars have lower output compared with the pick-ups in my Duo-Sonic. So do you think the Toasters on my 325 are not the "Hot" Toasters? What ever they are they have not been altered or changed as this guitar was in untouched condition when I got it.

Hey Mitch -
I've got a '97 325V63 as well, and they do indeed have the hot toasters. I unwound my pickups (a little effort, but saved $200) and you'd be suprised at how much difference unwinding from 12K down to 7.4K will make. I liked the change so much, I did the same for my 360V64.
Here's the article that walked me through it :
