Im just getting into the whole band thing. Iv been playing with cds and stuff for about a year in a half now. But anyways. I got a 200 watt Fender Bassman amp. So how well do you guys think that well work? I think the guitarist is grabing a 100 watt (i dont know brand or anything). I heard bass needs about double the wattage to match up. So i figured id be alright. Once i get my ric i plan on runing a stero cable and using my other amp to get some effects or something.

Anyone got any tips for the stero type deal?

I think you will be fine at 200W, just remember the guitar player will not be running at full volume, and your PA will do a lot of the work as well. If you can hear yourself on stage, that's the first hurdle!

Jacob, I've got the bigger brother of your's, a Fender Bassman 400, and it seems to work well for me. My Guitarist uses a Fender Tube amp which is about 50 watts.

I've no problems keeping up with him, and the most I've ever had to turn the volume up is to about 1/3 rd master, and about 3/4 on the gain. For anything bigger, I mike up, or run a DI cable into our board.

As for the stereo, I'd spend some time initially working on getting a good sound out of your Ric and Fender, and then move on from there. There are a few of us here who use the RIc-O-Sound output with good results.

My backup (read: portable) rig is a Fender BXR300 I got on the cheap from Ebay. I jammed (no PA)with a relatively loud hard rock band and it didn't get past 3.
