I love the guy who is asking him to pick up the $150 shipping, and is asking on a 650,000 guitar. Hilarious!!

I thought it was $695K. Oh well, what's $45K where $150 in shipping is concerned!

Considering that "Blackie" brought $1million plus, this price seems to be right in line with the rest of the insanity out there.

Does it help your playing to have so-called "mojo" in your hands? Mine (sadly) didn't make one bit of difference...

Have you noticed that the wear marks on the finish in the pics with Jimi are not present in the pics of the actual guitar? It could've been refinished, but why do that on Jimi's guitar? Wouldn't those wear marks prove the authenticity? I think I smell a scam, or is it just me?

Like anything this valuble the real dealing is all done behind the scenes. E Bay is the vehicle here for a greater worldwide audience. If it is the genuine article, I think the asking price could well be met.
As Steve says, the shipping deal is just too funny..

According to what the seller wrote in his spiel, the edges of the guitar were 'blacked in' by a pen or such which would explain why the wear marks aren't visible. Hard to tell by the pics but it could be.

Not that I have almost a million dollars to blow, but I still say this is kinda fishy. Normally, a guitar like this, if it is in fact once owned by Hendrix, probably wouldn't be on an internet auction site. An item like this would normally be sold at a private auction, were bidders can see it in person. That's what I'm thinking.

I was thinking along the same lines, Rob. Normally something like that would be saved for a Christies or Sothebys auction, IMO. The speil goes heavily into the sellers' credentials - if they had them serious collectors (ones with that kind of dosh) would be aware of them (IMO again!).

Pen fill-ins aside, that doesn't look like the same guitar as shown in the color pic of Jimi playing. The dark part of the 'burst appears to be thicker in the old photo. At least that's what my eyes are telling me.

BTW, I just noticed something. Would you buy this "Rare Collectible" from a guy who's also selling a Gibson SG Mousepad? HA!
