Forgive me if this is a stupid question.
How's come the C64 has the split bridge, and the C64S does not?

I think it's because a newer unit was installed on McCartney's when it was gone over at the factory...

Wasn't it taken by an employee and made into an ashtray?

The C64s also has the non-tapered pickup surround, as that matches the current setup on McCartney's bass.

I have a deeper question. Why was the bridge split in the first place, and why did they stop?

No, Bob, nothing yet. It is going on 5 months since the order was placed, so it should be a couple more, I would think. I'm waiting for the call.....

Bob, I think the split in the bridge had something to do with the mold, dunno for sure. JH?

John, looking at the split in my 64 basses they all appear different. The one in the deluxe is so badly made and sharply irregular that you could lose a pinky if your "anchor" too close to it!

Can someone post close-up pictures for comparison purposes, in case there is a member (like me) who cannot see the difference by looking at the Rickenbacker website pictures? Thanks.
