Anyone remember the old (1969) song, "Reflections" or "Reflections of My Life" by Marmalade? I actually managed to interest my bass playing teenaged son in this song. We want to play it together for open mic, but we're not sure of the bass tabulature. We found a version of the bass tab on the 'net, but it doesn't seem correct.

Anyone have a correct version of the bass tab?

I remember the song but don't know where you can get a tab, there are a few fast tricky passages in it but if he stays with the root notes it should sound all right I would think.
It's in the key of A isn't it?
If you need the chords I can probably remember them.

I don't know if this is the right key...but here's the chord progression I used to play.....
G /// Bm /// Em /// G7 /// C /// walk down to Am /// D ///////
I've never written a tab in my life but that should be pretty self explanatory...each chord played for a measure...the standard walk down from C to Am and hold the D for 2 measures...If I remember the bass is pretty straight forward with an octave part in the last half of the D. Hope that helps...by the way it's a great song and my friends and myself thought that maybe it was the Beatles when we first heard it.

Thanks guys - yeah, I play it the same way in G. For some reason, my son has to play it off tabulature. I tried to show him the basics of the bass line, but he wanted the EXACT notes. Looks like I'm going to have to sit down and figure this one out, note for note.

I agree, this is could pass for an early Beatles tune - nice harmonies, driving bass and the lead sounds like one off of George's Cloud 9 album.

I hate tablature. But i like having the EXACT notes. But when you have to jam it alone with a radio or something its good to have it exactly right. Or else it sounds off. Maybe its a newbe thing. Who knows. The more you play the better you get. Knowing your scales and just jaming... ya know? But when your just starting i think your paranoid about it sounding bad or something.

Great tune. Very Macca-ish bass on that song. They also had a hit with a cover of 'Ob-La-Di' didn't they?
