Have any of you professional players

found a good way to compensate for the weight of the 12 string headstock pulling the neck down while playing standing up? I'd sure love to hear how you managed it.

Are you right handed?
Tie some string to the big E tuner.
Tie the other end around your left ear.
That should work!

Two thirds of my set is with a 12 Murali, but I have never had a problem with neck heaviness. I play the thinlines....I don't know if the solids are any different.
Which gtr are you having problems with?

Play around with the strap length. Find a comfortable height on your body for the guitar and compensate for the headstock dive.

A good wide leather strap will help.

I've got a 660/12, Tony, but noticed it on my 330/12, too.
I was talking to the PROS, Karl.
Already tried that, Chris.
It does help some, Cole, but I think I'm going to find some way to add some weight to the (Trapeze) tailpiece on the 660. I've got some Lead from Hobby Lobby; maybe I'll see if I can stuff some into the control cavity. The 660 is pretty light, so a couple of lbs. won't make too much difference.

DECLINED EMOTICON??!!
Censorship on the forum???!!
Some folks just have no sense of humor.
Like me, for instance.

Murali, some of us are self-censoring.
Not that it's better or anything...

I've got 30+ years of playing behind my belt.
25 years of Rickenbacker experience.
I have owned 20+ Rickenbackers alone.
5 Rickenbacker 12 strings.
I came very close to completing a degree in music before I went into the medical field.
I got signed to a record label back in the 80's and had an album released nationally at the age of 20.
I have shared the stage with dozens of respected PROS (I have a photo somewhere in my files of Will Lee and I playing together...one of the worlds TOP bass players!)
I guess I'm not PRO enough. lol
I do have a sense of humor and I can also recommend a few great BBQ joints if you ever make it down to Texas.

Murali, I don't know what to tell you.
I have never owned a neck heavy Rickenbacker.
Maybe try some vintage 60's style tuners.

And there you have the two sides of Karl Teten...
Thanks for the resumé, Karl!

Put some velcro on the guitar strap and on your favourite gigging top and go for it!!
