4005 Look-a-Likes

Here are two other basses in my collection.
The one on the right is a 1967 Kustom Bass.
The one on the left is a late 1970s Shaftesbury.
Notice some similarities to the 4005.

The Kustom, which is a three quarter scale has great tone and feel. A terrific bass -- always has been.

The Shaftesbury is figured like a 330 body and is a basic Ric ripoff. Prety muddy sounding. Bill Wyman once used one. I think I've seen pictures of him using one on this forum.

However, neither measure up to the 4005!

I hope you don't put those near your real 4005! Image

Ha ha! The Kustom is really cool sounding, Jeff! I know that if I brought these to the confluence I would have never heard the end of it from you and Chris! (How do you add in those smiley faces?)

I believe there is info on that in the Coding section to the left under Posting. I myself have saved these .gif files in a folder and just add them like I do images.

The Kustom looks a little like a Mosrite.

Jaime - I'll be sending you an email as soon as the weekend is over and I am back in town.

Bob, you would love this Kustom! It really dosen't look like a Mosrite. It must be the angle of the shot.
