730S vs 730L

A couple of questions for anyone who's played/heard both a 730S and a 730L:

How would you describe the difference in sound?

Which would you choose as a general-purpose acoustic for live performances (with or without mic or amplification) and maybe some recording?

My gut feeling is that the rosewood back/sides would make the Shiloh a more suitable all-around instrument, but aesthetically, I prefer maple all over.

Any thoughts, anyone?

Also, are these models available with pickups/preamps of any kind?

Dennis, there is an E3 option for the acoustics as shown in the RUC catalog:

I have a 730L but have not played an S; however, I do have a 1960s MIJ Coronet 680-D acoustic with rosewood sides and back, and the 730L sounds a lot louder and brighter than it.
