ever used an eBow on their Ric?

I play in an original band in the UK and our stuff (that we do now, not so much the stuff from when we first started) has been compared to Floyd, Spiritualized, BRMC...

Fooling around one day I used my eBow for guitar (I only play on a few songs as I'm really a basist - I really got the eBow as a creative tool) on my Ric 4003. It sounded amazing - running it up to the neck pick up with no effects, tones all the way up and volumes rolled back a little - it sounded like a slightly distorted cello. I started using it at the outro of a song. It sounds amazing. We've played a few warm up gigs and we ended with that song and people always seemed blown away by the sound but even more so that I was getting this sound on a bass.

I have heard other bassists have used an eBow but I've tried it on a few different basses and it just doesn't sound the same!

We also have an interlude that leads into a song where the eBow is used to sustain 1 note for around a minute - it's being run through a Boss Bass Chorus pedal and it create this epic swirling sound!

Don't you just love little accidents! I only came up with that sound as I forgot to turn my pedal off before a song!

That's a good idea. I've tried it on a bass before (not a Rick and my dad was borrowing it from a friend) and I was not impressed. When I think ebow I think that beginning guitar sound on Pink Floyd's "Take It Back". I love that sound. I'll have to get one and write a song around it.... now if I could only write some songs I'll be set!
