Visit to Classic Axe

I'm in Virginia/Maryland for the weekend, and paid a visit to Classic Axe in Manassas. Jeff, the manager/owner? was super nice, even though I wasn't buying. On the wall were lots of Rick guitars. Three basses: Monte 4003, a Blue Boy 4003, and a white with white trim 4003(4001?). The white one had turned entirely banana, paint and binding. He also pulled from the back room a Cheyenne II in Monte: preeeeeetttty! Only the second one I've seen, the other a pic over at Mike Parks site.
I'f you're in the D.C. suburbs, get over to his store. Lot's of nice non-Rick stuff as well.

Russ sold me my 660/12 over the phone and I was very happy with all details of the deal.

Maybe this is a silly question, but what is a "Heritage" 4001V63 or was that to be "Rick"?
Just want to be sure I'm not missing out of something cool!

It should have said Rickenbacker 4001v63, but somehow "Heritage" came out of my fingers. But Russ is a great guy to deal with nonetheless.
I should also mention that I bought a G&L ASAT Special and a G&L Legacy from him.

Never bought anything from down there but talked to Ron and Russ for a while about Ric's ,There both great guys as far as Russes stock he had a ton of Ric guitars and basses when i was there.

Hey guys,
I'm usually Russ's sounding board (he's really not into the online message board thing), and when I go to the shop, I usually tell him about all the great things you guys have said about him. It gives him great satisfaction to hear that, that's why he's been open for business for over 13 years, there's no BS with him. Along the way, we have met (or have talked over the phone) with several forumites, and it's always a pleasure doing business with you guys. Speaking for Russ, he really apprieciates your enthusiasm and support.

Russ is the man for Ricks in the DC area. I have dropped in on him many times since about 1998. He often has over 25 Ricks on display. I've never actually bought one there because all my Ricks (so far) were purchased before Russ became a dealer. Needless to say, the next one will come from Classic Axe. I am talking to him about trading in my 360/12V64 for a new 660/12...................

Hope it's not an even swap, Jon. I'd sell my 360V64/12 on eBay first. You'll have enough to buy a new 660/12 and probably $500-600 more toward another guitar!!!! That's assuming the V64 is NRMT. Just a thought.

It depends. A year or more ago the 360/12V64s were going for quite high figures on eBay but that has cooled since the C63s came out and are shipping. I was thinking I might be doinig okay to get an even swap. I'd be surprised if I could sell the older V64 (very clean but not mint) today for more than buying a new 660/12.
