I know this has been talked about before a long time ago, but how would you trade online with someone? After deciding to trade with someone, who would ship first? I would only assume it would be on a trust basis only. Not that I have anything to trade, but the thought has come up.

I would pay a trusted Ric dealer a couple of dollars to broker it, if I were to do it.

Between forum members I wouldn't have any problems. I have bought and sold gear between members in the past, and wouldn't hesitate to do so in the future.

Ask to check their Ebay feedback. Ask them for references. If their honest they shouldn't mind. I do it all the time.

I bought a 350JG from a fellow forumite last week. It wasn't exactly 'a trade' as such (well..... I did trade money for the guitar!). I had a look at it the week before and agreed to buy it. Transferred the money into his account and informed him - he informed me when the funds became available and I went and picked it up - not a problem! Great way to do business.

I have bought and sold to forum members with no problems, in fact I'd trust them sooner than some dealers.
The wings are beating as I write this! Can you hear them?

Same here.....I have done several transactions with forumites and will continue to do so....
There DOES have to be a certain amount of trust...I mean, I wouldn't trade with someone who just appeared on here, out of nowhere....unless he owned a Shadow... ;^)

Also traded with a forumite with good results, and I was relatively new to the forum. The members trust amazed me.

Good point Nick. I have made many trades and purchases with forum members and it has always been first class. I wouldn't hesitate at all to do another one. The way we have done it is we both ship the same day, call or email the details, get the guitar, play it, be happy - Everytime. The guys here can be trusted to be up front and honest. So far it's been win-win and I trust it will stay that way.

There was one guy who deceived me, but he made up for it. I have a feeling he was deceived and just passed the bad info on to me.

Toaster swap between Peter and I was a success!

I put the toaster I got from Peter in my 4001V63 today and it sounds just like the '60s! I replaced the original lead, which was too short to fit the V63 with Mogami cable and it sounds just the way I hoped it would. VINTAGE!
Thanks Peter.
