Beatle or solo songs that annoy.

Yeah, funny question to ask but some of their stuff just sucks.
The Beatles, easy choice. "Yellow Submarine". I hate that song. It's the only one though.
I'm not familiar with George and Ringo's solo stuff so I'll still with John and Paul.
John: Just about everything after Imagine. Double Fantasy was good, minus Yoko's stuff, but everything in between just sucked. Plastic Ono Band is my favorite.
Paul: Most is good but a few things bother me. All of "Back To the Egg" just sucked for me and "If You Wanna" off Flaming Pie was awful. Paul is Live was a waste of time. His voice is just terrible. Besides "Coming up", "Waterfalls" and "Goodnight Tonight" McCartney 2 sucks.
I'll type more later.. going to school now.

There were two Beatle tunes that I wasn't real fond of, Goodnight and Revolution #9. I didn't hate any Beatles tune though. I liked Yellow submarine, especially when I was a kid.

(At school) I forgot about Revolution 9. I don't really consider it a song though. That's why I forgot it. add that to my list...

What bugs me is the production and players on nearly everything Lennon released solo. Those two things ruin it for me. Neither complemented his songs. His demos (from the box set) sound, IMO, better than the studio releases.

I think Tony Levin played nice bass on Double Fantasy, especially on "Watching the Wheels."

It was a Ric too, I thought he was kind of stiff, but he did play nice lines.

Was it now? I like that song. All the more reason to get my CD's from the states and learn it.
Anyone here not a fan of some of Paul's stuff?

I meant on the whole album I thought he was kind of stiff but played nice lines, I am always surprised when these rock n rollers especially Lennon use virtuoso musicians who can't play simple stuff without sounding like they're holding back all the time. Another one is Clapton and his bass player forgot his name, he's an L.A. saccharine session player if I ever heard one.

Clapton needs to fire his entire band and get some people with a fire in their gut. Those dudes he plays with are Soooo boring.
As far as Paul songs I don't like...hmmm....Kreen-Akore, didn't like a lot of the McCartney album, sounded like half-baked Let it Be songs (except for Maybe I'm Amazed and Every Night), Ram On, Temporary Secretary, (and most of McCartney II)...but that being said, his worst songs are better than most people's best songs.

Hey Jude sorry, tired of hearing it!

I have to agree, Bob, you know it's coming and it's going to be a 10 minute yawn. Play 1985 instead.

I would also submit that so much of what makes us like or dislike a song is not the tune itself but how it's handled by the radio/other distribution. Stairway to Heaven is a good example (again, from another thread). Given how much you've heard that tune, can you really be objective in determining how good a tune it is? Bob's on to something here with his Hey Jude comment...

Get Back...have always found the song "uninspiring" and plain boring.
Husbands and Wives by Ringo Starr always cracks me up, but not in a good way. Sorry Ringo.
I agree! The Anthology version of Obladi is preferable to the White Album version, in my opinion.
