Do you notice a difference in the sound of the bass with the new bridge? I really like this bridge, but I don't want to change the way my 4003 sounds.

Not really, but being fretless I think it was harder to really tell for sure. It does sound good so that is the bottom line, I suppose.

Since I can now intonate the bass it sounds better in the end; before, I could not get any of the saddles back far enough to properly intonate the strings.

Some may say that intonation is not important on a fretless but I don't agree with that.

Intonation/tuning is even more important with a fretless... Image

Yes an un-intonated fretless will drive you nuts, saying that I have owned two 4001FL's and have never had a problem intonating either one. In fact I have never had a problem intonating any Ric except one which was a 98, my E string was a little flat and I've owned more than 20. I've had to set up a few properly to get them intonated but I've heard so many crazy stories here about these terrible unintonatable tailpieces, it's amazing. I think you guys are all nuts!
