How may Rickenbacker bass players own a Rickenbacker 6 or 12 string? I am a guitar player with a Rickenbacker 4003.

I am (I guess) primarily a bassist, but spent a fair length of time exclusively playing guitar. In that time I picked up a 2001 650 Dakota.

My other Ricks are a 75 4001 and a 2004 4004 Laredo...

My other guitars are a 66 Fender Mustang, an 86 Fender Strat, a mid 90's Epiphone Acoustic, and 1959 Gibson LG-3 acoustic.

I'm a bass player but have a few guitars too. I have around 15 basses and 3 guitars and electric sitar and a mandolin. Plus a couple Casios, a Theremin, and Yamaha digital drumkit. Here's my Rics.

At the moment, my 4080 is the only 6 stringer I own. Last week, one of the guys at the tuesday jam session said to me 'Hey, man, you gotta turn the treble on that thing down a bit, I can hardly hear my Strat'...

Years ago when I started out I was primarily a bass player. Got my first 4001 back in '76 and purchased various Ricks over the last 29 years. During my major play out days in the '80's I began to dabble with the 6 string guitar. At that time I purchased a RIC 325 and an Ovation Ballader, loved playing them, but I was far being very good and didn't really have the interest. I would provide additional rhythm guitar if needed on specific songs that we might play but generally I was the bass player. As life and time moved on, I got married, had kids and all but stopped playing (for about 20 some odd years) until last year. I got the Rick bug again and have purchased RIC's 325C58, 325V63, 4001V63, a Hofner 500/1 '63 not re-issue and an Ovation Electric/Acoustic. Also seriously thinking about a Gretsch duo jet. As far as playing, I have gotten back into playing and really do enjoy it, even though it's just at my house. It's funny how earlier in my playing days I was so into the bass and never really practiced the guitar that much, but as I have re-discovered my playing, I'm really excited about developing my guitar playing capabilities (got along way to go). So far it's been a blast!

You must get a 660 or 660/12, there is no other choice given the requirements you listed! Image
