As a Rickenbacker neophyte and soon to be a proud owner of a 360-12c63, I have a question. Mitch has a 325v63 for sale on ebay, what are differences between the v63 and the soon to be released c64.? It is tempting to consider getting a v63 then to wait for the c64.

Hi Brian,I have been trying to find out the same thing. As far as I know most of the differences are more or less cosmetic and are designed to appeal to the Rickenbacker enthusiast who wants a guitar that comes as close as possible to the one that John Lennon recieved in Miami in 1964.Some of the diffences are only visible if you took the guitar apart like the back of the toaster pickup casings and perhaps the internal structure of the body.Other differences,I think, might be Kluson(branded)tuners instead of Ric(branded)Kluson tuners and maybe a slightly different bridge assembly.More suggnificant differencec are the scatter wound toasters on the c64 as opposed to the "Hot"toasters on the v63.Some people like one or the other better,I like the "hot" toasters and they don't make them anymore. You could always swap the "Hot" toasters for scatterwound or you could remove some of the windings to bring them back to 64 specs.Which ever 325 you decide on I am sure that you will love it but if you want to get a c64 you may have to wait a while.
