3001 Refin/Project

My friend has a 3001 he wants to let loose on, original idea was to do a stone roses esque pollock on it - he wants something more original than that though. Any ideas? What would you guys do? It's a 3001MG

I dunno, those 3001's offer a pretty big "canvas" if you will - especially if you lose the pickguard.
I kinda like my walnut though...

I'd refinish the body AND neck in fireglo and swap out the plastic for white. If ya wanna be real different, add a toaster in front and wire it Volume Volume Tone.

I have a 1976 walnut 3001 (or is it the standard 3001 finish RIC called "matte brown"? I can't tell the difference. Anyway, it looks a lot like Chris Poteat's above) and I would never change anything about the finish...except maybe fixing all of the worn spots on the back.
However, I would love to have a mapleglo 3001 to match my mapleglo 230, so here's an original idea: I recommend that Ronan's friend sell his to me at a ridiculously low price.
