Makes me sad.

I guess some people have just too much time and money on their hands... what a waste!

And some people are just plain stupid.

Looks like some kind of online music shop that specializes in F****r guitars.

The photo appears to date from the 1970s as well...back when Rics could be had for $90 and sawing one up didn't seem as much of a financial loss...

Looks like something Mr.Twistyneck would sell on ebay.

Most seriously, though almost all brands have their bunches of enemies, I could actually notice that those who hate Rickenbacker's are specifically cruel. One cuts them into two pieces, while others claim "Rickenbacker's are stupid and ugly" (I actually read this, though I'm still wondering about what a "stupid bass" can be).

I read many things from F*****r or W*****k detractors, but they were rarely that hateful.

It's a world full of hate, my friends... Fortunately, many bass players have a very good appreciation of Rickenbacker's, especially of the old ones...

For a person who hates Rickenbackers so much, taking a chain saw to it seems a little bit too easy to think of. It must have been one of those Ric copies, and this guy had just found out that he got ripped off!! "WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S NOT A REAL V63???" That's all those copies are good for; chopped up firewood.

Ah, this is clearly something in the category of "art"
It must be way over our heads, hence we cannot understand it. It requires a higher intelect, it is something that is not accessible to the common person. A simple misunderstanding of the "artist's" intent .... nah, it's ****.

I just found this in the archives and thought those who hadn't seen it would get a kick out if it. Or be thoroughly disgusted.

Was very surprised to see so few comments... then looked up the dates of posts.
Well, as they say, there are people who get so fanatic about something that they're ready to destroy the object of their passion just so that it wouldn't belong, even for a second, to anybody else. "I love you so much i want to kill you", or "If you won't belong to me, you won't belong to anybody". Or does he hate Rics? Hmmm. Then why saw? And why only two parts?
Looks ridiculous.

Just as well Townsend didn't have a Power saw he`d of got through loads of Ricks with half the effort!

I never understood what hating an instrument is about. It's an inanimate object, for crying out loud. I mean sure, there are plenty of instruments I personally find distasteful, difficult to play and awful-sounding, but I don't have to play them, either.
Anyway, all that guy did was throw away money and make everyone else's 360 go a little farther up in value.
